The Greg Norman designed golf course is the newest at PGA West and the only one of Norman’s in the Coachella Valley. Made up of 68 lush acres and 102 white marble bunkers, this course is said to challenge the skills of any level. The outback experience comes from the 7,200-yard course that has shark blue water on nine of its holes. And the entire facility is situated where a prehistoric ocean bed once was at 40 feet below sea level. The course is surrounded by Terra Cotta Mountains, wildflowers, and tall native grasses that taper as they reach each of the nine ponds that inhabit 18 acres of wild lands.
The Greg Norman Course is one of six legendary courses at PGA West in La Quinta, California. The 2,000 acre resort is also one of the preferred places to go in the Palm Springs area. With 109 holes of championship golf and many clubhouse amenities, this is a truly special golfing community. Celebrities and presidents alike have enjoyed these facilities with its gourmet dining, private fitness center, and 19 tennis courts.
And you can enjoy golf and many of the club’s perks even if you aren’t a member. PGA West welcomes residents of La Quinta and California as well as guests at La Quinta Resort & Club. There are opportunities to play at the Jack Nicklaus Tournament and TPC Stadium golf courses; or enjoy Monday Night Football at Ernie’s. And the Golf Academy is open to the public.
PGA West debuted its homes in 1984 and has been building ever since. There are over 3,000 homes and condominiums in this development. Monterra is situated in the Greg Norman Residential neighborhood and offers a limited number of luxury homes. New home designs were created by Jim Deford of Heldon Deford & Associates and centers around unique exterior details. These home sites feature serene mountain views and tranquility. But there is convenient access to golfing and clubhouse amenities.
